BATTERIES

- Can be recycled (ecological solution);
- No maintenance during several years;
- Can be stored during several months without discharging.

- Limited lifetime(about 300-500 cycles);
- Batteries very often with led and lead acid gel (dangerous for the environment and humans);
- Shall be changed every 6 months;
- Full discharge has to be avoided;

LIGHTING
- Lighting system, built in the system;
- Unbreakable, resistant to dust and waterproof;
- Lifetime of the LED over 50’000h;
- The lighting of a LED lamp of 3W is equal to the one of a standard 60W lamp.

- Usually the lighting is not included in the package, but when it is:
- The consumption of the lighting system is 4 times higher than the LED;
- The systems are fragile, breakable, water and dust non resistant;
- The lifetime of the lamp is very short.

SOLAR PANEL
- The amorphous technology is perfectly suited for variable weather conditions and high temperatures.
- The panel does not need to be oriented towards the sun;
- The panels are very light(1,2kg/m2);
- Best ecological product available on the market;
- Do not contain any toxic or rare elements;
- The energy return is of 6 months. Swiss Made manufacturing.

- Very often assembled in low cost countries;
- Mono-or poly-crystalline panel;
- Must be perfectly oriented towards the sun ;
- The panel must be ventilated, as from 25°C their productivity decreases;
- Their weight is between 20 to 50kg/m2;
- Not very ecological product : they contain much more rough materials, rare and toxic elements;
- The energy return is more than 4 years.

LIFETIME
- Unbreakable, dust and waterproof;
- Lifetime up to 2000 full charge / discharge cycles;
- The panels have an operational warranty of 20 years ;
- The electronic components are tropicalised and built in the system.

- No warranty for shock, dust or water resistance;
- Spare parts and qualified staff for the assembly must be foreseen, which implies additional indirect costs.

OTHER
- Most ecological system on the market: the batteries don’t outgas and don’t react to oxygen (no risk of explosion);
- Plastic without chlorine, or fluorine comply with military standards;
- Waterproof system complies with military standards;
- ILAND allows also to pump and to filter water, to charge and feed mobile devices, to produce light for free health centres in the bush, etc.
